How do I set up htick to auto create file areas? I found on the
manual that I have to set up for each link
autoFileCreate on
AutoFileCreateFile /usr/local/fido/hpt/fileareas.auto
fido:/var/spool/ftn/inb$ htick toss -b -c ~/fidoconfig/config "/usr/local/fido/fidoconfig/links", line 85: unrecognized:
autoFileCreate on
"/usr/local/fido/fidoconfig/links", line 86: unrecognized:
AutoFileCreateFile /usr/local/fido/fidoconfig/fileareas.auto
Link NIXNET[...]

"/usr/local/fido/fidoconfig/links", line 86: unrecognized:

I think those should be:
FILEFIXautoFileCreate on
FILEFIXAutoFileCreateFile /usr/local/fido/hpt/fileareas.auto

in main config:
areafixautocreate off
areafixautocreatefile /home/ubuntu/fido/etc/areas
filefixAutoCreate off
filefixAutoCreateFile /home/ubuntu/fido/etc/fileareas
For a particular link:
areafixautocreate on
areafixautocreatedefaults -g C -a 618:400/1
filefixAutoCreate on
filefixAutoCreateDefaults -g C -a 618:400/1
FILEFIXautoFileCreate on
FILEFIXAutoFileCreateFile /usr/local/fido/hpt/fileareas.auto
I added it to every link and it failed.
I added into config file: FilefixAutoCreateFile /usr/local/fido/fidoconfig/fileareas.auto but it doesn't create any area inside fileareas.auto
Results:
fileareas.auto still empty and NIXLIST still in inbound directory.

I suspect maybe they are using their "region" net/node number to
create the TIC and/or their tic software is defaulting to the first
Zone 86 AKA it finds. I think you can change your config to receive
from 86:70/0 and it should work?
