    Sounds excellent

Sharon, your profile pic reminded me. There is a LitRPG story you have to read. The guy has just finished the second volume and will start posting the third in a few weeks, so now is a good time to start.
It?s called ?Monroe? which is the name of the main character, who happens to be a Main Coone. Sure it?s told from the POV of a human, but he freely acknowledges that Monroe is his ?Feline Overlord??

It?s a brilliantly written story and the Gamelit aspects are tightly integrated into the storyline so it doesn?t feel like someone has just written down their game play.

The story is about a guy pulled from his life on earth to another world where he discovers that there is Mana and Magic. It starts out pretty darkly, especially because Monroe is left behind. The first part of the story is all about getting powerful enough to reunite with Monroe. After that ? well enough spoilers? you really need to read it yourself ;-)

The first chapter or two are annoying to some people, so give it a few chapters. Also, do NOT read the reviews.

Wow.. it's over 138 chapters, and still going! It took Calibre over 8 minutes to download it. I dunno. The Wandering Inn looks as intimidating. I need at least another 2 copies of me to tackle all the new reading recommendations coming at me.

LOL. You see what I mean about the length of books?

Just btw, in case you think free serials aren?t ?true literature?, do some googling about how Dickens published his stories?

Noted! He published segments weekly or monthly. But.. ultimately, the stories had a conclusion, no? ;)

Does the Wandering Inn end at all?
How close to a conclusion is Monroe?

Does the Wandering Inn end at all?
Absolutely no sign of it yet ;-)

How close to a conclusion is Monroe?
The second volume has just been completed, and the third will start shortly. Monroe is clearly a story with a planned conclusion.

PMFJI, ..but I am giving it a go right now. Interesting.

I'm still only into the single-percentages of the way through.

I'll read a couple chapters of Monroe, and then flip to "..Big
    Chests".

I think I'm "getting" the genre now.

Yeah.. I'm accustomed to reading about thirty stories simultaneously, at a chapter or two each a week..

SNAFU was the first "military" one that I learned about.

But usually I use PMFJI when a post is clearly meant to be for
someone else and I kinda bud in.

Yeah.. I'm accustomed to reading about thirty stories
simultaneously, at a chapter or two each a week..

I've discovered that the only reason I'm flipping between books
right now is because I like using the new eReader. But
juggling 30 stories would be impossible for me; by the time I
get to book 29, I'd be spending too much time backtracking
    chapters in book 1!

I also like the flexibility of choosing alternate genres or
styles of books in an eReader. I gotta revisit Mr. Heinlein
    one of these days though.

I think I'm "getting" the genre now.

I'm going to keep at for a while longer. I really don't spend
too much time reading the system or status "messages". I
wouldn't be able to keep track of all the skills, rules and
    exceptions anyway.

You'd think... but I can find no evidence of an actual bar with that name... There might well have been the odd temporary bar in various filed camps named that, but nothing that pops up on Google..
