Hey all!

I was looking at my old bbs backup that had some usenet groups. I exported the message areas over and imported them into the new RnS system and double checked all of the settings. Everything looked ok in SBBSCFG.

I turned to the newslink.cfg file in the CTRL folder. Comcast's news service is LONG gone, so after some googling, I found a free service called 'eternal september.' (www.eternal-september.org) I modified the login info and URL and doubled checked the message areas were still available that I wanted to pull in.

I ran the timed event and it connected, it it started to look good processing the different boards, but at the end it said it exported 0 and imported 0. Here's a snipit of what I saw in the "EVENTS" window:

Any ideas? Maybe it's a limitation of the service; I still need to dive a bit deeper, or if anyone has a service they like, preferably free, that'd be great too... Thanks in advance!

Remember, if the 'I' flag was not specified (globally or per-newsgroup) in your ctrl/newslink.cfg, then no articles (aka messages) will be imported during the first run and only newly-posted articles will be imported on subsequent runs.

Thanks for that page... I didn't see the 'i' option in my cfg. (it must be because it's from another version... 3.10 I think it was) I'll see if I can do anything to re-force the initial callout so I get those messages.

So I was able to run the jsexec newslink -ri command to pull in all the original messages.. thanks for your help!
