Ok, this is a major sleeper anime. It's about a girl who is an apothecary and gets kidnapped into being a servant at the emperor (I just can't seem to spell that right...)'s compound. Eventually, she's found to be literate and becomes an important part of the compound. The action is non-existant, but the intrigue and intelligence of the writing is bar none.
